Work commences on "trimming" the little Toyota engine down to size. The sump and oil pick up are modified and a new steel pipe exhaust manifold is fabricated. The 40 amp charging alternator is fitted to the rear of the engine and will be driven along with the two traction alternators via a vee belt pulley bolted to the flywheel.
