The running chassis undergoing trial running. The drive is the same petrol electric system used in all of my locos. This loco used a 1300cc fuel injected engine from a Toyota Starlet which has been fitted with a tiny little turbo charger! This drives a pair of 270 A traction alternators which power a pair of 24 volt 3.5KW traction motors. With plenty of power and weighing in at 881 Kg as pictured, tractive effort is impressive to say the least!
