This is a painting of the Hagans J1 articulated loco painted by my girl friend, Caroline. It is painted from a black and white photo from the book titled "Tasmania’s Hagans", a book written by Geoff Murdoch on the J1 loco which ran on the North East Dundas Tramway on Tasmania’s West Coast in the early 1900s. When built, it was the most powerful two-foot gauge loco in the world and featured a fascinating articulated drive system. Parts for a 1/3
rd scale version of the J1 are being collected in the Boulder Creek Tramway Workshop for a future project.
